The UNOPS Kenya office manages more than 60 projects in around 10 countries of eastern and southern Africa. UNOPS in Kenya helps partners achieve their project goals in sectors including: governance, education, health, the environment, grant management and rural development.

UNOPS East Africa Hub

The UNOPS East Africa Hub is located in Nairobi and oversees the organizations operations in Somalia, South Sudan and Burundi. The Hub covers a large geographic spread, including Eritrea, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Mauritius, Seychelles and Comoros, in addition to those mentioned above. UNOPS in Kenya implements a large portfolio of projects in partnership with other UN agencies and various donors on the ground, ranging from physical infrastructure to transactional projects.

Functional Responsibilities

Ensures work delivery focusing on achievement of the following results

• Perform artisan services.
• Repair, maintain, assemble fittings, fixtures and infrastructure as required.
• Maintain issued tools and equipment.
• Undertake emergency repairs whenever required to ensure facility operations are not hindered.
• Perform other related duties as required
• Full compliance of operational activities with UNOPS rules, regulations, policies and strategies.
• Input to the elaboration of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in operations, in consultation with the direct supervisor and office management.
